Last Monday the kids went back to school. It was pretty hard getting back into the swing of things because of other life happenings we were not home the two whole weeks before school, unexpectedly. We got back on Sunday and went to school on Monday morning. We are now back in the grove and already over most of the complaints with getting up early to do family scripture study.
Spencer is in the 2nd grade and has Mrs. Jacobs, the teacher that Kaitlyn had last year. He is excited to have quite a few friends in his class that have been with him for the last 2 years.
If you ever ask Spencer to smile this is what you will get.
If I want a natural looking smile I have to come up with something silly that I have not told him before, it keeps getting harder and harder. And in this shot you can see how well his arm is healing, the bend is not as well defined.
Here he is showing off his new Perry the Platypus backpack.
Kaitlyn is entering the 3rd grade. When we got the teacher list this year it had 3 possible 3rd grade teachers and Kaitlyn said that the only one she did not want was Mrs. Fletcher, so of course when we show up for school on the first day, that is who she gets. I found out later that Kaitlyn got in trouble for running on the black top at recess last year and is was Mrs. Fletcher. After the first day she decided that she really was not a mean teacher.
I cannot believe how big she is getting. What happened to my little girl. She was so excited to find this Tinkerbell backpack because it was “made for big girls and not babies”!
Here are some shots of the kids in front of their classrooms.
