Digital Scrapbooking

I am terrible at getting my pictures developed, I just started getting some developed here and there as money allows and I am now up to July 4th 2007.  Needless to say I am WAY behind on my scrapbooking.  So I decided that I would try my hand at digital scrapbooking.  Here is my first page.  It is Spencer’s first t-ball game.  He is really having a great time and wishes that there were games every day.

Good News!

I am so happy right now. My friend told me that she reads my blog through Google Reader and that it still had a copy of all of my posts so I went and subscribed to my own reader and sure enough they are all there! Now I just have to go through and copy and paste them all back into my blog. So please bear with me while I work on getting them all in there! I am going to try and get them all back in the same order with the original dates and times so it will probably take a while to get it all back to normal.

AAAAGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH!

If the kids weren't asleep I would so be screaming right now.  Earlier today when I posted my last posts I noticed that there were items missing from my blog but thought that it was some sort of glitch or something and had to go get kids ready for dinner and stuff.  After getting them in bed I came back to check and see exactly what was up and my blogs have been screwed up.  I don't know what happened every post on our family blog was deleted prior to today and upwards of 50 posts between today and last August were deleted from my stamping blog.  I have no idea what could have happened to them and I am having no luck finding any help within blogger help support.  I have emailed them about it but who knows when I will hear back if ever.  It seems from reading the help forum that they don't respond with anything other than a generic form back very often.  To make matters worse, I cannot find a way to contact Blogger directly and read in a lot of the posts that you just have to post a message in the help forums and hope that someone that works at blogger reads it. 

I dont see how one of the kids could have done it because not only would they have to delete each post you have to confirm the deletion.  I cannot imagine them doing it 65-70 times either on accident or on purpose.  I did find two posts that I had drafts saved on my computer one for each blog but that was it.  I am just going to go crawl into bed and cry, there is just so much gone.

Bows and Holders

I shared this over on my stamping blog but thought I would share it here too for those of you who don't make it over there.  Isn't this one of the cutest things?!  I saw one of these over on Etsy and wanted so bad to buy it but didn't have the money to spend ( I wanted to get 3 of them one for me and each of my nieces) so I decided to make one myself.  I used mostly scraps of stuff I already had around the house. The dress has 5 ribbons to attach your boutique bows and clips, 3 of the ribbons are white and the other two are hard to see they are a pink organza type with a kind of loopy eyelet border. 

  These are the 3 bows I made to go along with the present, you can see the sheer pink ribbon a little better in this shot that you can attach the bows to. 

It was so much fun to make once I figured out how to actually do it (it only took about 9 hours and when I did it was one of those “duh” moments.)  Now I just need to make more and go sell them myself! (well I have to still make the one for my girls and my sisiter’s little princess.)

A new do

 

I have been talking about doing something with my hair for a while and yesterday I finally did it.  I cut off 10 inches.  So here is my before shot:

I went looking for a picture of me and realized I really dont have many pictures of me as I am usually the one behind the camera so this one will have to do.

And now here is the after:

Now these picutres at totally opposite as to how you should do before and after shots like the professionals.  My before picture is the one taken with the nice camera, good natural lighting and makeup all done up.  The after is in the harsh inside light, taken with my web cam, and absolutely no makeup just moisturizer today. 

It is so weird to have hair so short, it hasn't been this short since I was 12 or 13.  It is funny because my brain hasn't completely adjusted yet, when I do certain things through out the house that would normally cause my hair to fall forward over my shoulders I subconsciously go to push it back and there is not any hair there to move. 

All Things Ribbon

My little Hannah is generally obsessed with her hair, I don't want to think was is going to happen when she is a teenager.  She loves having her “pretty tailies” in her hair.  As soon as she gets dressed in the morning she wants her hair done.  Her hair is still super fine and a lot of time the bows fall out and when she realizes it is gone we have to put one back in.  Anyways for those of you with little girls you know how expensive the “boutique bows” can be and with the way we loose them I have to find a way to make them myself instead.  So while on the hunt for new styles of bows to make today, I came across a new site, called All Things Ribbon, she has a cute tutorial on making a flower clip.  The link to it is here.  I would think that if you don't have a wood burner tool you could use the tip of your glue gun to melt the plastic part.  I will have to try it out and let you know if it works or not.  She is also having a blog give away that ends tomorrow where she is giving away some free bows, go sign up to win!  Sign up even if you don't have a little girl because I am sure you know a little girl somewhere and her mommy would love it if you surprised her with some cute bows!  The website address is http://allthingsribbon.blogspot.com/.  All you have to do is leave a comment to win.

A Kaitlyn Funny

I love the way that kids see the world. Last month the Old Spaghetti Factory turned 40 and so they had a special all month long where on Mondays and Tuesdays the items that were on their original menu were 40% off. There is a location close to Scott’s office so we decided it would make a fun family night activity to go to dinner and then Scott could go back to work afterwards. It was busy and the food was a little slow but the kids were being great. So when our food finally came, Kaitlyn didn't really want to eat her food. We asked her what was wrong. She replied “ They put grass on top of my spaghetti!” As you can tell we don't go out to eat too often let alone to a nice place so she didn't know what chopped parsley looked like as a garnish, she thought it looked like grass clippings.

Help Me, Help Me, Help Me

Today I sent the kids outside to play in the gorgeous weather right after school while I nursed the baby. A short while later I hear Hannah yelling from out side “Oh no, Mommy, help me, help me, help me (over and over). I put the baby down and run out side to see her standing on the patio looking down at her legs. She had knelt down in the mud with out realizing it and now had muddy knees. She was so worried about them, and I told her she was ok. She then asked me “Am Hannah pretty?”. I told her, of course. Then she said she wanted her picture taken. So here she is, pretty Hannah in all her glory with muddy knees.

A Day at the Park

The past two weeks we have really been enjoying the weather. It has been so beautiful and warm you would never guess it was January. I think we even made it up to 69 last week but for the most part we have been hovering in the mid 60’s. We had to take advantage of the weather and head out to the park.

I had to document Emmalyn’s first trip to the park. Even though it was warm for the time of year she was still wrapped in a blanket and had a hat on inside her stroller. Kaitlyn’s favorite thing to do at the park (and at school) is the monkey bars. She did them so often at the beginning of the school year that she had blisters for more than a month. She just wouldn't lay off of the monkey bars and couldn't understand why her hands wouldn't heal, she now has strong calloused hands. Spencer also loves the monkey bars. He is so proud of himself now that he can go all the way across the long one with out falling.

Hannah’s favorite thing to do at the park is the slide. Her favorite one was the tallest twistiest slide at the park. The first picture is her getting off the end of the slide so that you can see really how big the slide is that she loved going down. If you can click on the picture to get a larger view you can see Spencer sitting at the top waiting his turn to go down. The second picture Hannah is in the middle of the slide on her way down (this time Kaitlyn is at the top waiting.)
